Profile –

Suherry Arno, born in Bogor on 23 January 1961, is a photographer and the owner of De’Arno Gallery located in Bogor.  Initiated by his passion in arts, especially painting, Suherry decided to create his own artworks.  Back in 1990, an idea came across Suherry’s mind of how to enjoy artworks without spending much money to buy someone else’s work.  Comprehending his own capability of not having the talent to draw, Suherry decided to throw himself into the photography field, another art he has adored since his childhood.  Classical photographic process – especially in processing negative film into positive image – is the highest rank in art photography with its own artistry. Hard work has been a life philosophy firmly held by Suherry, either in creating artworks or working, as well as in living his daily life.  A life lesson he learnt from his late father, who once said “Strive hard when you have a will, you must work hard for it, no matter how long it will take, as long as you can make it come true”.   The message somehow relates to Suherry’s passion in photography.  From making photographs, print them, and finally resulting in a perfect photograph definitely takes such a long time and it requires an extraordinary hard work.
